In 2022 we will be re-opening our doors to welcome visitors with the new times as follows:

Thursday & Friday - 12 to 4 pm | Saturday - 11 am to 5 pm & Sunday 11 am to 4 pm

Mid-week 3 course lunch option

From January 2022 we will be offering a private lunch option of a 3 course set menu for 4 to 6 people (max) midweek only.  From $95pp + wine. 

Colin will put together a menu that will change with the seasons and producers’ availability.  Bookings are essential, require 48 hours notice and credit card details are required upon booking.

Our Barossa Story

Our story is one of making the bold move of buying a vineyard (Col did this without telling anyone), moving interstate, changing career paths, and building a space to share our passion for this beautiful region and the world-class wine & food it produces. 

The property consists of Riesling, Shiraz & Semillon, all planted around 1929.  We also purchase fruit from like-minded growers nearby to add to the line-up of wines available.  Colin now makes the wine onsite except the Riesling.  

Over time, Colin’s first career as a builder has come in very handy at Flaxman. He has built a cellar door, outdoor kitchen, pergola, and pizza oven.  Once a month, Col puts his cooking hat on and produces a five-course degustation of beautiful food, which showcases some of the Barossa and South Australia's fantastic produce.  It's a beautiful day of kicking back and being spoilt with lovely food and wine and all enjoyed while sitting at the long table overlooking the vineyard.  In 2022 we are also adding a 3-course Mid-week lunch option to the mix for a minimum of 4 to 6 people max, on Tuesday to Friday - Bookings are essential, and 48 hours notice is required.

Hi. I look after these two boys, and it's a tough job, but someone has to do it. I'm a bit of a jack of all trades around here, so on my days off, I can be found in the office working on the website, doing the bookwork, marketing, and helping out in the vineyard and winery when and where I am needed. I look forward to welcoming you to our Cellar Door or hosting you at one of our long lunches.

Col

I'm Col. A Builder turned winemaker who also happens to enjoy cooking a bit. I'm the lucky person who rarely feels like I go to work, and I guess when you are indulging your passions, how can it feel like work? As they say, luck favours the brave, and it was our bold leap of faith that has us living in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Come and say hi, and you will understand why I will never work another day in my life.

I'm Gus, an 11-year-old staffy and the Cellar Door Manager here. I'll be here to greet you when you arrive and won't let you leave until I have won you over.  I also work in the vineyard with Col most of the time, love getting caught in the nets during picking time, enjoy eating the odd grape or two, but I mainly love to be around people. I look forward to seeing you at our cellar door sometime soon.
