We (Fi & Col Sheppard) are a small family owned winery established in 2004. After visiting the Barossa over many years, the decision to move here from Melbourne was made. Col was a builder but got the urge to take his passion of drinking wine to the next level by not just drinking it, but making it too. The Flaxman vineyard was planted out in 1929 with Shiraz, Riesling and Semillon and we also source small parcels of Grenache, Mataro and some Eden Valley Cabernet & Chardonnay to add to our wine portfolio. The vineyard is dry grown and handpicked each year by ourselves and friends who come in to lend a hand. Wines are now made onsite and during vintage, people can see the winemaking process happening first hand. 

The other passion Col has is cooking – in taking that passion to the next level, Col entered Masterchef in 2014 to put his skills to the test and made it through to the Top 10. We have now pooled all those passions together and opened our doors to share our food and wines with you.  Long Lunches are held on the 1st Saturday of Every Month and we usually put a theme to them.  We also welcome bookings for private functions - Contact us to enquire further.

Eden Valley Cellar Door, Long Lunch

I'm Col, a Builder turned winemaker who also happens to enjoy cooking a bit as well. I'm the lucky person who rarely feels like I go to work and I guess when you are indulging your passions, how can it feel like work? As they say, luck favours the brave and it was our brave leap of faith that has us living in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Come and say hi and you will understand why I will never work another day in my life.


Hi. I look after these two boys on either side of me. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. I'm a bit of a jack of all trades here, so on my days off, I can be found in the office working on the website, doing the book work, marketing and helping out in the vineyard and winery when and where I am needed. I look forward to welcoming you to our Cellar Door or hosting you at one of our lunches. Cheers Fi

I'm Gus and I'm an 8 year old staffy and the Cellar Door Manager here. I'll be here to greet you when you arrive and won't let you leave until I have won you over.  I also work in the vineyard with Col most of the time, love getting caught in the nets during picking time, enjoy a good game of ball but mainly I just love to be around people.
