OUR BAROSSA STORY
Our story is one of making the bold move of buying a vineyard (Col did this without telling anyone), moving interstate, changing career paths and building a space to share our passion for this wonderful region and the world class wine & food it produces.
The proprerty consists of Riesling, Shiraz & Semillon - all of which were planted around 1929 or thereabouts. We also purchase fruit from likeminded growers nearby to add to the lineup of wines available. Colin now make the wine onsite with the exception of the Riesling.
Over time, Colin’s first career as a builder has come in very handy at Flaxman. He has built a cellar door, outdoor kitchen, pergola and pizza oven. Once a month, Col puts his cooking hat on and produces a five course degustation of beautiful food which showcases some of the Barossa and South Australia's amazing produce. It's a wonderful day of kicking back and being spoilt with beautiful food and wine and all enjoyed while sitting at the long table overlooking the vineyard.
In the current 'unusual' climate the Cellar Door is open on Saturday and Sundays and the Long Lunches are now back up and running and bookings are now open.
